What is your philosophy of patient care?

My goal is to treat all of my patients as I would treat myself or a member of my family: with honesty, compassion and enthusiasm in a beautiful, safe environment, using the best judgment, knowledge and technical ability that I have to offer. I perform only those procedures for which I possess a special interest, particular knowledge and superior ability and technical skills, and I pledge to perform those procedures and the associated diagnostic and supportive care to the best of my ability.

Each patient presents a unique set of circumstances related to their personality, medical problems, level of anxiety, goals, financial resources and previous treatment experience. We try to take all of these factors into account and develop a unique treatment plan, or various treatment options, for each patient. My staff members form a very energetic, enthusiastic and supportive team that allays patients' fears by their obvious concern for each patient's well-being, their willingness to spend as much time with each patient as necessary to answer all of the patient's questions, and by bonding with patients through humor and sincere interest in their personal lives.

We place a high priority on managing the mental and emotional concerns of our patients. We utilize art in many forms to bring beauty and serenity to our office. I have selected the art for its relaxing qualities and natural, handmade character. The art includes textiles from Africa, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Japan, abstract paintings, and sculpture. The music has been specially selected by a world renowned authority on the calming and healing effects of specific types of music.

We recognize that visiting a surgeon can be a stressful experience, and we make every effort to minimize each patient's anxiety and to provide sympathetic encouragement and support throughout the entire treatment.
