| About Anesthesia | Today's anesthetic agents are safer and easier to recover from than ever before. Patients generally wake up rapidly, feeling comfortable and alert, without nausea or disorientation. They are able to go home within a short time after surgery so they can enjoy the comfort of their own home. Therefore, almost all cosmetic surgery is performed in our office on a day surgery basis. Our fully equipped surgical suite and recovery area provide you with a secure, private, relaxing environment. |

| Dietary Supplements and Their Hidden Dangers | Patients may fail to tell their doctors about supplements for a number of reasons. Many do not think of these products as medicine, and others are afraid of what their doctor may say to them. However, Dr. McBride needs to know everything you are taking, not just prescription drugs, because some supplements adversely affect surgical outcomes. |
| Out of Town Patient Information | Doctor McBride sees and treats patients from around the United States and the world. Since these patients may be traveling great distances to come to Dallas, it is useful for them to know what time investment will be required to prepare them, perform surgery and provide essential, early post-operative care. |
| Surgical Fees | Because cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance plans, patients must pay directly from their own means. Happily, treatment costs are within the reach of most working people today. Dr. McBride believes that cosmetic surgery is an investment in yourself, but it should be affordable, and you should select the simplest, least expensive treatment plan that meets your treatment goals. |
| Recovery from Surgery and Anesthesia | Today, the anesthetic drugs we use in our surgery center wear off so quickly that patients are awake, alert and ready to go home shortly after surgery. They are usually able to care for themselves at home without difficulty. Almost everyone who is sedated for surgery will want to have a friend drive them home and make sure they are secure. Occasionally, a patient having a short procedure may remain in our office until they are fully recovered, so they may be permitted to have a taxi drive them home. |
