AmazingFaces Lift

Life is too short to look sad and tired all the time! But that is the way we may look after too many days in the sun, too many years, or too much stress and worry. When we are babies, we have round cheeks and full healthy faces that are very appealing. But, over time, we loose fat under our skin, creating sunken cheeks and depressions under our eyes. These changes not only make us look old and tired, but they can make us look sad, even when we are happy. Why not do something about the sad, tired, stressed-out look? Today, Dr. McBride's AmazingFaces Lift can give you a dramatically happier appearance without surgery.

Chin Reshaping

Dr. McBride has a special interest in cosmetic chin surgery. He has published an extensive, seventy-page chapter on cosmetic chin surgery, in which he reviews the broad variety of techniques available to analyze and correct chin cosmetic problems.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Dr. McBride performs brow lifts using advanced endoscopic techniques to raise the eyebrows, open the eyes, smooth the forehead, and reduce crow's feet and upper eyelid skin laxity. The incisions are hidden in the hair. Brow lifts recreate the happy, confident, enthusiastic look of youth.

Contour Thread Lift

I was one of the first surgeons in Texas to perform this procedure. In early 2005 I performed a number of these procedures, and my initial reaction was quite positive. After reviewing the longer term results I determined that I could no longer recommend the ThreadLift to my patients. It simply did not provide the excellent improvements I routinely obtain with my EasyLift facelift , endoscopic browlift, and other procedures.

Ear Reshaping (Otoplasty)

Under normal circumstances we hardly notice people's ears. However, if the ears are very large, prominent or distorted, they tend to catch our attention. Prominent, protruding or poorly shaped ears can be flattened, and contoured to a more elegant form with ear reshaping surgery. The cartilage in the ear is responsible for its shape. The cartilage is flexible and elastic so it can be bent but will return to its original shape. By altering the amount, thickness or shape of the cartilage, the contour of the ears can be permanently improved.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)

Cosmetic surgery for your eyes can lift your spirits and improve your appearance. Dr. McBride performs cosmetic eyelid surgery to correct problems associated with sun damage and aging. If your wrinkled, puffy eyelids make you look tired or older than you feel, or if your eyebrows are heavy and low over your eyes and make you look serious or angry, you will benefit from an eyelid lift to remove excess skin and/or a browlift to elevate the brows and lift the upper eyelid skin. The sagging skin in your upper eye lids can add years to your apparent age and even impair your vision.

Face Lift - EasyLift (Rhytidectomy)

Why are some people afraid to have a face lift? Because they have seen some bad face lifts, but haven't noticed the good face lifts. This is unfortunate because today's face lift is the very best way for many people to dramatically improve their appearance. Good face lifts are invisible. You don't notice them because they look so natural. The natural, "couldn't tell you had a face lift", face lift is the goal for us. The result should be so natural, with no distortion or imperfections, that you simply look younger, slimmer, more athletic and attractive. How you got that way should be almost undetectable.

Facial Implants

Facial implants can be very effective in filling in flat or depressed areas and creating the fuller, rounder contours that are associated with youth. The effect should be subtle so that there is no hint of an implant being present. They should not produce an abnormal degree of prominence of any structure. Facial implants are used where normal bone contour is deficient. Fat Transfer is usually preferred where soft tissue contour is deficient but there is satisfactory skin elasticity. If skin elasticity is deficient, and there is excess skin causing moderate to deep lines, some type of lifting procedure (facelift, browlift, midface lift) should be used in place of, or in addition to, implants.

Fat Transfer Augmentation

Because of the superb results and the simplicity of the recovery, Fat Transfer is the most exciting new technique in facial cosmetic surgery. The luminescent glow, round cheeks and soft-as-silk skin that babies are born with are universally appealing. But age and sun damage take a heavy toll on our skin. Over time, facial skin thins, creating sunken cheeks, unattractive lip lines, and depressions under the eyes. Fat transfer has dramatically improved our ability to restore ideal facial contours by treating the real problem, which is loss of fat, not the side effect which is looseness of the overlying skin.

Fillers: Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane

Fillers are the “magic rejuvenators”” we have been waiting for. They can transform a tired looking, aging face into a youthful, rested face during a simple office visit without surgery. Fillers are so exciting because they offer a simple, predictable, cost effective way to fill depressed facial areas for several years without surgery. The best fillers are Radiesse, Juvederm and Restylane. These fillers are made from materials that are identical to what is already naturally present in your body. They can be injected to fill depressions and recreate youthful contours without surgery. Fat is also a filler but is discussed separately because it requires surgery.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Computer controlled lasers emit a powerful beam of light that can be used to precisely remove a superficial layer of skin. The surface cells are vaporized, leaving a smooth healthy surface for young new cells to grow over. The laser removes the old, rough surface cells and stimulates the deeper layers of skin to grow thicker, thus filling in the depressions in the skin and creating a smoother surface. Dr. McBride owns the latest generation of lasers, which gives him the most precision and produces faster healing and better results.

Midface Lift

The midface is the area between the lower eyelids and the upper lip. In youth, this area is full and round and there is a subtle groove extending from the base of the nose toward the corner of the mouth. As we age and sun damage reduces the elasticity of our skin and fullness of our cheeks, the midface can become flat and a deep groove can develop. A midface lift repositions the cheek tissue toward its youthful position, reduces the depth of the cheek fold, elevates the corners of the mouth, and recreates a happy, youthful contour. The midface lift is particularly appropriate for those aged 30 to 60 who do not need a full facelift but who would benefit from higher, fuller cheeks. The procedure is usually combined with a browlift, however it can be performed alone.

Neck Liposuction

Men and women who want a tight, athletic neck and well defined jaw contour choose liposuction surgery, sometimes in combination with other facial procedures to reduce areas that are resistant to weight loss.

Neck Lift

A neck lift is the equivalent of the lower one half of a face lift. It is useful for those with hereditary excess, sagging skin in the neck but with good facial skin contour. It is used where there is so much skin laxity that a good result cannot be obtained with liposuction and muscle repair alone, and where removal of excess skin in necessary.

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgical procedures. The nose can be increased or decreased in size, narrowed or widened, lengthened or shortened in any combination to provide the most esthetic balance with your other facial features.

Skin Lesion Removal

Are Those Skin Spots Normal? We all get spots on our skin. Most of the time they are small, light brown, and hardly noticeable. When we are young, most of the spots are “normal”, like freckles. But some spots are abnormal, really unattractive and can become cancer. The common skin cancers are basal cell, squamous cell, and melanoma. We see many worrisome, unsightly spots form on the face because it gets so much sun exposure. These abnormal spots tend to grow larger, more unattractive, and have a higher risk of becoming cancer.
